Hess: Welcome to Smoky Mountain Saturday! I am your host, Big Jim Hess. Well we have a great show lined up for you tonight as the #1 contender for the SMW Heavyweight Championship is on the line, as well as Christopher Daniels defending the SMW TV Championship and a whole lot more! Let's head to the ring.....

Handicap Match: Gillberg/Johnny Rodz vs Abdullah The Butcher
The Butcher dominates both men, and pins Gillberg after the ELBOW DROP. Abby turns to watch up the ramp to see if Brody is coming to jump him, and Rodz manages to dump him over the top rope to the delight of the crowd.

Sin City Playboys vs The British Bulldogs
In a great back and forth match, Davey Boy finally gets the win after several pin attempts by both sides via the VICTORY ROLL on Austin Idol

Hess: What a great match!!! When we come back our next..... Wait we have a disturbance in the back. Let's go to the locker room.

(The camera goes to the back, and Sgt. Slaughter is arguing with SMW officials about something. Colonel Debeers then is seen hitting Slaughter with a folding chair. He continues to beat on Slaughter until security pulls him off. Debeers says "You want to leave, then leave you stinking coward.")

Hess: Hello and we are back. I have just gotten word that Sgt. Slaughter has unexpectedly decided to leave the SMW. And it looks like Debeers gave him a going away present. Well the show must go on. The TV championship match is NOW!!!

SMW TV CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Christopher Daniels (c) vs The Mountie
In a surprisingly clean match, The Mountie manages to escape the REVERSE STO, and locks in the SHORT ARM CHOKE SLAM to become the NEW SMW TV CHAMPION!!!! After the match, The Mountie grabs the Shock Stick and zaps Daniels with it. He gives Daniels a 2nd zap before security could rescue Daniels. Daniels is helped to the back. (Injured 4 cards)

Hess: The night gets more and more unexpected as we have a new champion in The Mountie!!!! He manages to get his man in this match.

Half A Ton vs Minnesota Wrecking Crew
After the Wrecking Crew started fast, Calhoun quickly ended it with a HIT WITH HORSESHOE, not seen by the referee.

Hess: I would like to welcome to the interview area, Commissioner King!!!

King: Thanks Big Jim. We have an exciting announcement. The SMW Memphis Championship will be making its return to the SMW. And I would like to call to the interview area, Diamond Dallas Page!

(DDP comes to the interview area to the delight of the fans.)

King: The Memphis Championship is has a proud tradition, and DDP I would like you to wrestle in the match later tonight to determine the new SMW Memphis Championship. And your opponent will be Jerry The King Lawler!!!! And on a side note, we will be replacing Sgt. Slaughter in the #1 Contenders match with a mystery opponent!!!!

DDP: I know Jerry is a loved man here in SMW, but Lawler. You will FEEL THE BANG!!!! I will bring the Memphis Title back to the people!!

Curt Hennig vs Big Van Vader
After several illegal tactics by Vader, Hennig gets frustrated with him and hits him with a chair outside the ring. Bison Smith comes down to help Vader. As both men double team Hennig, Randy Savage comes to the ring with a steel chair of his own and clears the ring. Commissioner King comes out and tells Smith that he will meet Randy Savage in the ring, RIGHT NOW!!!

Randy Savage gets a hard fought win, beating Smith with the MACHO MAULER.

MAIN EVENT #1: #1 Contenders match to SMW Heavyweight Championship

Bruiser Brody vs Barry Windham vs
The crowd is stunned when out from the back comes Slaughter's replacement. It is Superstar Graham!! What a replacement!! Brody is not impressed as he has both Windham and Graham in trouble. Brody nails Windham with a big boot knocking him out of the ring. Graham manages to lock the SUPERSTAR BEAR HUG in on 3 occasions on Windham, and he is forced to tap out before Brody can get in and break it up.

Hess: Well Brody looks very upset over losing this match, and Graham moves on to meet Ric Flair next week. When we come back, the 2nd of our 2 main events!!!

MAIN EVENT #2: SMW Memphis Championship


Diamond Dallas Page vs Jerry Lawler
A great match that has the crowd on the edge of their feet. Lawler hits the PILEDRIVER and goes for the pin. Out from the crowd comes the 3 time Memphis Champion, The Honky Tonk Man! He nails Lawler with his guitar, and the referee calls for the bell. He then clobbers DDP and beats on both men. The referee decides to throw the match out.. Security comes down to take Honky Tonk Man away.

Hess: The Honky Tonk Man ruins a great match! How will this situation be resolved? Tune in next week for another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Saturday!!!

Hess: Welcome to Smoky Mountain Saturday!! I am your host, Big Jim Hess. Ric Flair, the DWA/SMW Heavyweight Champion will be putting the SMW belt on the line against Superstar Billy Graham! Also we have the new SMW TV Champion The Mountie defending the belt for the first time. Plus in a Triple threat match, The Honky Tonk Man vs Jerry Lawler vs DDP for the SMW Memphis Championship in an elimination match!!! And to kick off August, the SMW has adopted a new logo!!! And a whole lot more! Let's head to the ring......

Johnny Rodz vs Big Van Vader
Vader just crushes Johnny when he nails him with the VADER POWER BOMB. He delivers a 2nd one after the bell, and he challenges the winner of the Flair/Graham match later on tonight.

(Gillberg comes to the ring. He challenges anyone in the back to be his first victim in the SMW. A legendary man accepts his challenge!!)

Gillberg vs Bruno Sammartino
Bruno makes quick work of Gillberg, pinning him after a BACKBREAKER. Bruno grabs the mic, and tells the crowd he is here to clean up the SMW. He came over from the GCW to take the SMW Heavyweight Championship. And he is sick of being overlooked by the DWA brass.

Colonel Debeers vs Brian Christopher
Debeers makes quick work, pinning Christopher after a RUNNING CLOSELINE. He then delivers a FACE FIRST PILEDRIVER on Christopher after the bell. (Christopher injured 6 cards).

(Debeers grabs the mic and insults the crowd. He said that Jerry Lawler is next, and it's obvious he doesn't love his son since he didn't come out to help him.)

Bison Smith vs Barry Windham
A really good match that saw a lot of near falls. Windham gets the win after a 2nd SWEETWATER SUPLEX.

(Ric Flair comes out with the rest of the Horsemen after the match.)

Flair: Woooo! The Nature Boy is here! I am going to take care of Billy Graham just like my buddy Barry Windham disposed of Bison Smith. The Four Horsemen will rule wrestling forever!!!!

Arn: And Bulldogs. Me and Ole are going to dispose of you guys tonight, Horsemen style!!!!

Minnesota Wrecking Crew vs British Bulldogs
The MWC started off fast but its short lasting. A bloodied Arn Anderson (6 tokens) is pinned by Dynamite Kid after a FLYING HEADBUTT.

SMW TV Championship Match

The Mountie (c) vs Curt Hennig
The match is not without controversy as The Mountie tried to fight mostly outside the ring, while Hennig tries to win the belt in the ring. A reversal off the ropes proves to be costly as it allows Mountie to take control. The Mountie gets the pin after zapping Hennig with the SHOCK STICK. The Mountie stands on the 2nd rope holding the shock stick in one hand and the SMW TV championship belt as it fades to commercial.

Half A Ton vs Sin City Playboys
Half A Ton seems to be back on track in this one, and Monsoon pins Buddy Rose after a AIRPLANE SPIN AND SLAM.

SMW MEMPHIS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Elimination Match: Honky Tonk Man vs Jerry Lawler vs DDP
The first fall was very grueling with Lawler kicking out of a DIAMOND CUTTER, and DDP kicking out of a SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL. The action heats up when Lawler throws HTM out of the ring. DDP attempts a DIAMOND CUTTER on Lawler but to no avail. Lawler pins DDP after FISTDRIVERS before HTM can get back into the ring.
HTM batters Lawler from pillar to post. He hits several moves including a giant GUITAR SHOT. But a battered Lawler manages to kick out. A desperate Lawler tries the FIREBALL on 2 occasions but is blocked by Honky. One mistake by Honky, and Lawler capitalizes. Lawler pins Honky after a PILEDRIVER to claim the Memphis Championship (Lawler 6 tokens, HTM 3 tokens).

Hess: What a match!! Jerry Lawler wins a grueling battle to become champion!! I am sure Honky Tonk Man will be gunning for him down the road to earn a rematch. When we come back, the 2nd main event!!!

MAIN EVENT #2: SMW Heavyweight Championship

Ric Flair (c) vs Superstar Billy Graham
A really good match that saw Ric Flair escape the SUPERSTAR BEAR HUG on 2 occasions. Flair locks on the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK, but Graham gets to the ropes. Graham retakes control but makes a mistake by missing a turnbuckle charge. Flair manages to roll him up and get the pinfall and the big win!!

Hess: Flair manages to escape with his SMW Heavyweight Championship, we have a new Memphis champion in Jerry Lawler. But how is Lawler going to deal with Colonel Debeers? And how will Ric Flair handle the Vader situation? Tune in next week for another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Saturday!!

(Jerry Lawler interrupts Colonel Debeers.)

Lawler: Colonel Debeers you piece of trash! After what you did to Brian Christopher last week, you are going to answer to me tonight!!!

Debeers: The only way I am fighting you Lawler is you put up that Memphis Title. I am not lowering myself to fight a sorry excuse for a man like you, Mr. Lawler.

Lawler: Debeers, you are on!!!!

(Both men leave the ringside area and the crowd goes wild as another title match is added to tonights card.)

Sabu gets the quick win with the CAMEL CLUTCH.

Barry Windham vs Curt Hennig
Hennig kicks out of 2 SWEETWATER SUPLEXES, and Windham is obviously frustrated. He gets DQ'd when he hits Hennig with a steel chair outside the ring.

(Bruno Sammartino comes out to the ring. He challenges Vader to a match TONIGHT to prove who the #1 contender is. Vader quickly accepts the challenge and comes down to ringside.)

Bruno Sammartino vs Big Van Vader
A brawl to say the least. Both men were hurting in this one (Bruno 5 tokens, Vader 3 tokens). After a missed deathjump by Vader, Bruno traps him in the BEAR HUG and Vader is forced to tap out. A bloodied Sammartino has his hand raised by the referee.

(The camera pans over to the crowd. Down the aisle is walking Bad News Brown, Tony Atlas, and Ahmed Johnson. They are wearing the black and red jackets, the colors of the Black Panthers. They show the camera their ticket stubs as they take their seats.)

Honky Tonk Man vs Diamond Dallas Page
A rematch from the triple threat last week. A great match that ends when HTM hits back to back SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLLS.

SMW Tag Team Champions The Steiner Bros vs The British Bulldogs
A great match. Several defensive tags in this one, with all 4 men getting involved in the action. Scottie pins Dynamite kid after the FRANKENSTEINER.

(after the match, Captain Lou Albano comes down and talks to The British Bulldogs. Davey Boy doesn't seem to be liking what Albano says and he shoves him aside as they head from the ring.)

Hess: Mr. Albano....What are you doing here in SMW? And what did you say to Davey Boy?

Albano: Well you know something daddy. Captain Lou has taken several tag teams to tag team gold over the years. The Bulldogs are coming just shy in beating the Steiners, and I offered up my servies. We are still in negotiations.

Hess: That would be quite a great signing for you. The Bulldogs are a very talented team. When we come back our next match!!

SMW TV Championship Match

The Mountie (c) vs Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth
A great match that ends in controversy yet again. Savage dominates most of the match, but cannot put him away. After Mountie slams Savage into the ringpost, the momentum switches. Mountie rallies back and pins Savage after a zap with the controversial SHOCK STICK. Security comes into the ring to make sure Savage is not permanently hurt after he was zapped.

Hess: Something has to be done. The Mountie continues to win by using the shock stick. This cannot be tolerated for very much longer. When we come back, Abby vs Brody in a DOG COLLAR MATCH!!!!

Dog Collar Match: Bruiser Brody vs Abdullah The Butcher
Brody is just brutal in this one, smashing the chain into Abby's skull. A bloodied Abby is mercifully pinned after a JUMPING KNEE SMASH from Brody. A giant man comes down the aisle and attacks Brody from behind. It is Bob Sapp!! He takes the chain and swings it at Brody. Brody leaves the ring before anything else happens. The Panthers in the front row seem to be enjoying the violence of the last match.

A quick match that goes downhill early as the action spills outside the ring. Debeers is disqualified for hitting Lawler with the ringbell. Both men fight down the aisle and back to the dressing room as the show comes to an end.

Terry Taylor vs Savage T w/ KJ Hill
Taylor makes his return to SMW after a long absence, taking on newcomer Savage T. A great match that saw both men kick out of each others finishers on 2 occasions. Taylor finally gets the win after the PILEDRIVER. KJ Hill's distraction was unsuccessful.

(Jim Cornette heads to the interview area.)

Hess: It is nice to see you again in SMW Jimmy, it has been a long time. Where is Eaton and Condrey? And where is Stan Lane?

Cornette: It is Mr. Cornette to you, Hess. And thanks. It is great to be back in SMW. After leading the Midnight Express to gold on several occasions, the ingrates left to go to the minor leagues of wrestling, TCW. Everything is bigger in Texas, hey Midnights? Well I would like to introduce you to my newest tag team, and the team that will take me to hold the DWA World Tag Team Championships, Half-A-Ton!!!!!

(Gorilla Monsoon and Haystacks Calhoun come out to the shock of the crowd.)

Cornette: These men would like to challenge you to a match at International Incident, if you have the guts. These 2 men will squash you like a bug, and send you back to Texas with your tails between your legs. And I haven't heard from Stan in quite awhile. I am sure he will make his decision when the time comes. Guys let's head to the ring for our match.

Hess: Well it looks like the gauntlet has been thrown down. Will the Midnight Express accept? Only time will tell. When we come back, our next match.

Sin City Playboys vs Half-A-Ton w/ Cornette
The Playboys put up a heck of a fight, but could not put them away. Calhoun pins Rose after the BIG SPLASH.

Bob Sapp vs Gillberg
Sapp just crushes Gillberg, pinning him after a SAPP POWER BOMB. The Black Panthers are standing on their feet applauding the efforts of Sapp.

SMW/DWA World Champion Ric Flair vs Curt Hennig
Hennig almost pulls the upset after a large flury and a near fall after THE AXE. Flair rallies back, works on the legs and gets the submission after the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK.


The British Bulldogs vs Minnesota Wrecking Crew
The Bulldogs control the early portion, but the MWC rally late. Ole gets the pinfall on Davey Boy Smith after the FALLING FACE SLAM. After the match, Captain Lou Albano comes down to ringside and tries to talk to Dynamite Kid again. Davey Boy politely tells Albano that they do not need a manager, and he and Davey Boy leave the ringside area.

Hess: Well I will give Albano this, he is persistent in trying to get the services of the British Bulldogs. Will it happen? Stranger things have happened, but after this exchange it doesn't look probable.

Colonel Debeers vs Johnny Rodz
Colonel Debeers wins this one in a squash. Toward the end of the match, he goes under the ring and grabs what looks to be a crown he got from a fast food restaurant. He puts the crown on Rodz, and then delivers the FACE FIRST PILEDRIVER to pick up the win. He then grabs the mic and tells the crowd that their hero the Burger King Jerry Lawler is on borrowed time holding the SMW Memphis Championship.

Sabu vs Diamond Dallas Page
Sabu is disqualified for using the ARABIAN FACEBUSTER on DDP.

(Honky Tonk Man challenges Bruno Sammartino to a match. Bruno comes out to the delight of the crowd, and quickly accepts. Before the match gets underway, Honky Tonk Man announces the return of his longtime manager Jimmy Hart!!)

Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart vs Bruno Sammartino
The return of Jimmy Hart did not go as planned as Sammartino manages to get the win with POWER FOREARMS. After the match, Hart tries to hit Sammartino with the megaphone, but it is blocked and Sammartino throws Hart over the top rope to the delight of the crowd.

SMW TV Championship Match

The Mountie (c) vs Barry Windham
A great match that saw both men battered and bloody (Mountie 3 tokens, Windham 5 tokens). Windham survives 2 SHORT ARM CHOKE SLAMS and 2 zaps with the SHOCK STICK, but finally is put down for the 3 count after the 3rd SHORT ARM CHOKE SLAM.

Hess: It is unbelievable the way the referee never seems to catch the sneaky Mountie in using the shock stick. His time will come, but it was not to be this week. When we come back, our main event!!!

MAIN EVENT: FIRST BLOOD MATCH

Bruiser Brody vs Abdullah The Butcher
A brutal match that saw lots of fighting outside the ring. Brody dominated the early portion, but could not split open Abby. Abby lands his 3rd ELBOW DROP of the match, and then reaches into his tights. He pulls out the dreaded fork, and gouges into Brody's forehead. Blood comes pouring out of Brody's head and the referee calls for the bell.

(After the match, Brody rallies back and starts to pound on Abby. Bad News Brown and the other Panthers come over the rail and they manage to throw Brody over the top rope and out of the ring. Brown then raises the hand of Abdullah as the show goes off the air.)

Hess: Welcome to Card #200!!! I am your host Big Jim Hess, with my special co-host Bill Apter!! How have you been doing?

Apter: Thank you very much for having me. I have been meaning to check out the action more closely in the SMW, and I have a front row seat!

Hess: Well we have an absolutely stacked card for the big event, including the return home of Dusty Rhodes, a man who spent 2+ years before heading to his other home in Texas. But he is greeted by Horseman member Barry Windham!!

Apter: It should be a tough match up for sure. Good to see big Dust back in the SMW, even if it is just temporarily.

Hess: And look who is at ringside yet again......

(The camera pans over and it is the Black Panthers contingent of Bad News Brown, Tony Atlas, and Ahmed Johnson.)

Hess: Enough of all the chatter, let's head to the ring!!!


SMW TV Championship Match

The Mountie (c) vs Bob Sapp
A great match that saw several reversals. The Mountie went for the SHOCK STICK, but Bad News Brown jumped the railing and took it off the apron before it could be gotten. Sapp finally gets the win with the second SAPP POWER BOMB. Sapp hugs Bad News Brown, and all 4 members of the Black Panthers head to the back.

Hess: It is hard to feel sorry for the Mountie here, especially after what he has done to Christopher Daniels and others with that shock stick.

Apter: I am sure Daniels will have plenty of things to say about that when he returns from injury. On to the next match!!!


Gillberg vs Savage T w/ KJ Hill
A quick match that ends when Savage T lands the SUPERKICK.


Hess: I actually thought Savage T would be FIRST on Gillberg's hit list.

Apter: Savage T looked great in that match, and who knows could be bigger things coming on his horizon.


Superstar Graham vs Terry Taylor
A very cocky Graham came into this match very confident. But Taylor had other plans as he battered Graham with several agility moves, including 4 FIVE ARMS. But Graham was deterimined in this one, and locked in the SUPERSTAR BEARHUG 3 times in a row to finally get Taylor to submit.


Hess: Well, Graham didn't have the easy time he thought he would have.

Apter: Terry Taylor came to fight, and came within an eyelash of winning the match. I wouldn't mind seeing these 2 in the ring again sometime down the road.


Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart vs Sabu
Honky Tonk Man starts out dominating, but cannot put Sabu away. Sabu attempts a deathjump, but Jimmy Hart nails him with the megaphone in the back of the leg. Sabu falls to the mat, and is locked in the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK, and HTM picks up the controversial win.

Hess: Once again, outside interference is the key in this one.

Jerry "The King" Lawler vs Colonel Debeers
Lawler takes a page out of Debeers book, and wins the match with a PILEDRIVER outside the ring. Debeers is unable to answer the 10 count.

Hess: Rare ruthless behavior by Lawler.

Apter: He looks like he went the extra mile to get revenge for the comments made about his son.

Hess: Maybe that will teach Debeers to keep his mouth shut.


Randy Savage w/ Eizabeth vs Johnny Rodz
Savage pins Rodz easily after the FLYING ELBOW DROP.

Hess: Savage dominates, and may have his eye on the SMW Heavyweight Championship.

Apter: Plenty of stiff competition in SMW for that belt, will be interesting if he can beat the odds.


(Captain Lou Albano is standing in the ring, and he calls out the British Bulldogs.)

Albano: Davey Boy, Dynamite. This is your final chance to have the greatest tag team manager ever, Captain Lou represent you. I feel with your skill and my expertise, I can take you 2 to the top.

Davey Boy: We appreciate the offer, but we prefer to do things on our own. And we will become the new SMW Tag Team Champions in a short time!!!

Albano: I am sorry to hear that. I feel sorry for you.

(Out of the crowd comes The Wild Samoans!! Afa and Sika lay out Dynamite Kid with a few chair shots. Davey Boy has Albano by the shirt, but is quickly freed by the Samoans. They deliver a SAMOAN DROP/BIG SPLASH on Davey Boy. The crowd is furious with Albano and the Wild Samoans as they toss garbage into the ring.)

Albano: No one says no to me.....No one......


Hess: What is all that about? Albano should respect the wishes of the Bulldogs. They don't want a manager.

Apter: I agree with you there. As the Bulldogs are both carried from the ring, I think they have revenge on their minds.

Hess: Well the show must go on, and that is what we are going to do....


"American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs Barry Windham
A great match that saw several damaging moves delivered by both men. Windham manages to spoil the return of Dusty and pins him after a 3rd SWEETWATER SUPLEX.

Hess: I was really hoping for a Rhodes win in his return.

Apter: Both men battled it out, but it was Windham who got the last word in. Great match.


Curt Hennig vs Big Van Vader
Curt put up a heck of a fight, but it was not enough. Hennig is pinned after 3 VADER SAULTS, and then a VADER POWER BOMB. After the match, Vader delivers another VADER POWERBOMB on the concrete floor. Curt is carried off on a stretcher.

Hess: That Vader is a sick man. He has one of the more popular SMW stars carried out on a stretcher.

Apter: He needs to be stopped, and it is only a matter of time who does it.

Hess: Speaking of sick men, we have our next match........


Barbed Wire Baseball Bat Match

Bruiser Brody vs Abdullah The Butcher
After several exchanges, Brody manages to grab the bat, but before he can use it Abdullah knocks it out of his hands. Abdullah swings and misses, but Abby retains control of the bat. Both men are bloodied and battered, and both took several shots with the bat. Abby manages to pin Brody after KARATE SHOPS TO THE THROAT to win the match.

(After the match, Abby continues the assault on Brody. HE grabs the bat again, and goes for the kill. The big screen hits, and the crowd is shocked.)

(Snuka hits the ring, and attacks Abby. He lands some vicious chops and FLYING HEADBUTT, sending Abby from the ring. The crowd is silent as Snuka comes to the aide of the hated Brody.)

Hess: What a bloody match!! And what is Snuka doing helping Brody?

Apter: A fan favorite in Jimmy Snuka unexplainably helps out a fallen Brody. I don't know what to say. Hopefully this explained in the weeks to come.


C.M. Punk vs Diamond Dallas Page
DDP comes through the crowd and to the ring to the delight of the fans. A great match that saw both men kick out of each others finishers. Punk manages to get the win with CORNER KNEE STRIKES. The fans give both men standing ovations after the match is over.

Hess: Punk with a very impressive win, and DDP continues his losing ways in SMW.

Apter: DDP has no need to feel bad about that performance. He has the skills to rise above the competition. Only time will tell if he can get it done or not.


SMW Tag Team Championship Match

The Steiner Bros (c) vs Half-A-Ton w/ Cornette
The Steiners batter Monsoon (6 tokens) but could not put him away. He manages to make the tag to Calhoun and he is on fire, battering both Steiners. He hits the BIG SPLASH on Scott but Rick makes the save. A battered Scott tags in Rick and he rallies the troops. He pins Calhoun with back to back STEINER BULLDOGS to retain the belts.

Hess: What a match!!!! The Steiners beat the giant odds and beat the biggest team in wrestling to retain their belts!!!

Apter: Both teams look exhausted, but I believe the better team managed to win the match and retain their belts.

Hess: Well the time has come for the Main Event, as Ric Flair puts up the SMW Heavyweight Championship against Bruno Sammartino. Bruno has beaten some tough competition to earn this chance. Any predictions Bill?

Apter: Well, both men are at the top of their sport. I am going to pick the upset, and Bruno Sammartino will win the SMW Heavyweight Championship!!!

Hess: Only time will tell, let's head to the ring for the main event!!

MAIN EVENT: SMW Heavyweight Championship Match

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair (c) vs Bruno Sammartino
Sammartino came really close to winning the belt, but it was just not to be. Flair manages to recover from a Bruno BACKBREAKER, and then he goes to work on the legs. He locks in the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK, but Bruno manages to escape. The action takes to the outside, as both men battle. Flair picks up a lead pipe he found under the ring, and clobbers Sammartino with it as he tries to get back into the ring. Sammartino crashes back to the floor. The referee did not see this, and Flair manages to get back into the ring just to beat the count of 10.


Hess: A great match with a controversial ending as Flair uses every dirty trick in the book to hang onto his SMW Heavyweight Championship.

Apter: Flair looks unstoppable as both the DWA and SMW Heavyweight Championships. It will be very interesting in a couple weeks when he takes on his buddy Tully Blanchard. Will he pull out every stop on Tully to hold onto his belt?

Johnny Rodz vs Mr. Hughes w/ Bad News Brown
This match was supposed to be Bad News vs Johnny Rodz, but he refused to get into the ring. He grabs the mic and claims that the SMW is holding him back, and hiding Ric Flair from real challengers, and keeping the black man down. The match finally starts, and Hughes surprisingly has trouble with Rodz, almost getting pinned on 2 occasions. Hughes rallies back and pins Rodz after the SIDEWALK SLAM.

Abdullah The Butcher vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Jimmy Snuka makes his official SMW debut, and it does not go well for him, as Abdullah is relentless. Snuka is bleeding heavily (6 tokens) and is pinned after the 5th hit with a FOREIGN OBJECT in the match. Brody comes down to make the save and starts pounding on Abby. The Sheik makes the save for Abby, and the next match is started once order is restored.

The Sheik vs Bruiser Brody
A pretty even match that ends with Brody pinning Sheik after a JUMPING KNEE DROP. Brody goes out of the ring to grab a chair to try and finish Sheik off, but he escapes back to the dressing room.

SMW TV TITLE MATCH
Bob Sapp (c) w/ Bad News and Mr. Hughes vs Terry Taylor
A pretty easy, and surprisingly clean win for Sapp as he pins Taylor after the SAPP POWER BOMB.

The Mountie w/ Jimmy Hart vs Christopher Daniels
(Jimmy Hart comes out to the ring and declares he is managing The Mountie. And The Mountie will take on anyone in the SMW right now. The crowd explodes as the returning Christopher Daniels makes his way to the ring!!!) The match starts and Daniels is on fire. Hart attempts to interfere with the megaphone, but Daniels knocks it out of his hands. But this gives Mountie time to recover. He picks up another controversial win over Daniels using the SHOCK STICK. He attempts to go for another shot, but the lights go out........

(Sting appears in the ring, and gives Mountie a shot with the baseball bat and he scurries away. The lights go off again and come back on and Sting is gone!!!!)

Hess: Sting, the former 2 Time SMW Champion is back!!!! And it looks like he came to the aid of his friend Christopher Daniels. All champions better beware as The Icon is back!!!!

SMW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

The Steiner Bros (c) vs The British Bulldogs
The match is a mess from the beginning. Albano comes down to the ring and claims the Wild Samoans deserve the shot. While the Bulldogs are distracted, the Samoans come into the ring and attack the Steiners and the Bulldogs both. The referee quickly throws this match out and is declared a no contest. The Bulldogs are clearly not happy with the ruling.

Minnesota Wrecking Crew vs Black Panther Party w/ Bad News Brown and Mr. Hughes
Ahmed is doing really well in the match, beating up both men, but it is a disaster when Atlas is tagged in. Atlas struggles throughout the match and cannot get the tag in. Ole ends up pinning Atlas after a SMALL PACKAGE coming off the ropes.

SMW MEMPHIS TITLE MATCH
Jerry Lawler (c) vs Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth
If Lawler was looking for some stiff competition, he sure got some in this match. Lawler was very close to losing the match, but a reversed throw into the turnbuckle started the demise of Savage. Lawler rallies back and pins Savage after the PILEDRIVER. Superstar Graham comes to ringside and helps Savage to the back, pointing menacingly at Lawler as they leave.

Barry Windham vs Bruno Sammartino
A long and grueling match that Windham just could not get anything going. Bruno gets the win after a 3rd locking in of the BEARHUG. Ole and Arn Anderson come down to the ring and start beating down Bruno. The crowd erupts when Andre The Giant comes down from the back. He clears the ring of the Horsemen, and then raises the hand of Bruno as the crowd cheers them both on.

MAIN EVENT: SMW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Ric Flair (c) vs Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart
Flair looks dominant when in quick fashion pins HTM after a SUPLEX ASSORTMENT.

(As Honky Tonk Man leaves the ring area with Jimmy Hart, The Black Panthers come through the crowd and attack Flair. It is a 5 on 1 assault until the other Horsemen get there with chairs to make the save. Bad News Brown grabs the mic and tells the crowd that SMW has kept the black man down long enough, and they need to have their chosen one fight the best wrestlers in the SMW, and not just the whitest ones. The crowd is booing the whole time as the show ends.)

Gillberg challenges anyone from the back. Out comes Andre and the crowd goes crazy. Gillberg all of a sudden is not so confident. Andre has little trouble in the match, as he allows Gillberg to try and get some offense in, and then seems to tire of it and finishes Gillberg wtih the BIG SPLASH.

Diamond Dallas Page vs Sabu w/ Grand Wizard
DDP starts fast but ends faster when he misses a turbuckle charge and then is caught by Sabu with the TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT (+5) to give the win to Sabu.

Ole Anderson vs Bruno Sammartino
A very even match that ends when Bruno pins a worn down Ole after REPEATED STOMPS.

Heenan: Listen up Flair......We can help each other. Tully took you to the limit at the last PPV. The Horsemen are strong, but could be even stronger with The Brain at the helm. With the Brainbusters back in the fold, it is just a matter of time before we take over the SMW!!!!

(Flair huddles the other Horsemen together in a conference. When the conference is over, Flair extends his hand to Heenan and welcomes both Heenan and Tully into the Horsemen)

Bad News Brown: (Over the loudspeaker) Flair.....You can add all the washed up whitebread crap you want to your stable of losers. But prepare to lose your title TONIGHT!!!!!

(Flair asks Brown who is challenger is tonight, but is ignored as we head toward commercials)

Hess: Wow, the Horsemen just got a whole lot stronger adding Tully Blanchard and Bobby Heenan into the mix. Heenan and Blanchard had a great run in GLW, and almost defeated Flair for his DWA World Championship. Who is going to stop this group?? For our sake I hope it is not the Black Panthers.

Wild Samoans w/ Lou Albano vs British Bulldogs
In a stunningly short match, the Samoans make quick work of the Bulldogs when Afa pins Davey Boy after the DOUBLE HEADBUTT. After the match, the Samoans beat down the Bulldogs. The Steiner Brothers come out and make the save and brawl with the Samoans to the dressing room.

SMW TV CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Bob Sapp (c) w/ Bad News Brown vs Barry Windham w/ Bobby Heenan
A good match that had both men close to winning the match. After interference from both Brown and Heenan, the match continues on. Windham is counted out when Sapp delivers the SAPP POWER BOMB on the concrete floor. Heenan is unable to get his man back into the ring before the count. Brown grabs the mic and said that Flair will be in that condition when the Panthers are done with them. The other Horsemen charge the ring, but Brown and Sapp escape.

Christopher Daniels/Sting vs The Mountie/Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart
They get Daniels in deep trouble, but cannot put him away. He manages to tag in Sting, and he is on fire. He batters both Mountie and HTM. He gets the win for his team when he traps Mountie in the SCORPION DEATHLOCK. Jimmy Hart tries to interfere as well, but gets a big right hand from Sting for his trouble.

Ravishing Rick Rude w/ Bobby Heenan vs Mr. Hughes w/ Bad News Brown
Rick Rude makes his SMW debut against Black Panther security Mr. Hughes. Rude looks good, toying with Hughes throughout the match. But he does it one too many times, and Mr. Hughes pulls off the upset win with the SIDEWALK SLAM. Bad News Brown grabs the mic and tells the crowd he has to hurry up and get ready for his match later on today.

Hess: Well it looks like we know who the contender is tonight for the SMW Heavweight Title. It looks as if Brown is taking the shot himself. When we come back our next......what the heck???



(Shawn Michaels and Triple H walk out to the ring.)

HBK: You see Hunter, this place is great!!! I used to be the Memphis Champion here!!! This is SMW!!! Shawn Michaels Wrestling!!!!

Triple H: Damn if you are the biggest star they ever had here, I might as well head back to Australia!!! There doesn't appear to be much competition. Maybe we should head back to the WWE.

Sin City Playboys vs Degeneration X
This was not a walk in the park as DX thought it would be. Buddy Rose kicks out of the SWEET CHIN MUSIC by Michaels, and manages to tag Idol. Idol almost pins both Triple H and Michaels on 3 occasions, but cant quite get it done. Triple H battles back and pins Idol after 2 PEDIGREES.

Hess: Wow!!!! DX wins in their debut, but maybe they got some of the cockiness knocked out of them!!! It is only a matter of time before DX gets their chance at the SMW Tag Team Championships!!! When we come back, a special LOSER LEAVES TOWN MATCH!!!!!

Loser Leaves Town Match: Wrestler that loses the fall leaves SMW!!!

Bruiser Brody/Jimmy Snuka vs The Sheik/Abdullah The Butcher w/ Grand Wizard
Brody and Snuka look very good at the beginning. Brody has The Sheik all but beat, when Sabu comes out from the back with a steel chair. He nails Snuka in the back, and both of them fight with each other to the back, leaving Brody to fight Sheik/Abby by himself. Brody does well for awhile, but the numbers were too much. Abby finally pins a battered Brody with a giant ELBOW DROP. The crowd boos loudly as they realize that Bruiser Brody is forced to leave the SMW!!!!!

Hess: Well that was just pure robbery!! The fans of SMW will miss Bruiser Brody, and wish him well. Well when we come back, our main event!!!!!

MAIN EVENT: SMW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Ric Flair (c) w/ Bobby Heenan vs Bad News Brown w/ Mr. Hughes
A really good match that saw Flair kick out of 2 GHETTOBLASTERS, one by Heenan distracting the referee. Mr. Hughes chases Heenan to the back. The war wages on , and Flair eventually gets the pin after the PIN USING ROPES. Flair celebrates in the ring strutting around. From the crowd comes a giant man. He nails Flair with what appeared to be brass knuckles. Then he picks up Flair and delivers an ASIAN SPIKE on Flair. Flair looks like he could be hurt. The man takes off his mask. It is Ernie Ladd!!!! He is back!!! Bad News Brown picks up the SMW Heavyweight Title belt and hands it to Ladd and Ladd holds it up to the crowd as the show ends.

Another match that cannot be contained as both men are disqualified. Mr. Hughes jumps into the ring and its a 2 on 1 assault until Ravishing Rick Rude makes the save. Ole would not shake Rude's hand after The Panthers were chased away.

SMW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

The Steiners are barely able to hang onto their titles as Rick took 2 SAMOAN DROP/BIG SPLASH finishers from the Samoans but managed to somehow kick out both times. A frustrated Afa gets DQ'd when he hits Soctt with a steel chair and they call for the bell. The Samoans beat on the Steiner Bros until security can chase them away.

Hess: Well the Steiner Bros had a rough match there, and they will seek revenge down the road. But their focus has to be on the DWA I-C Tag Titles, as well as the new #1 contender match!!! Let's head back to the ring!!!!!!

Jimmy Hart is absolutely irate when Lawler pins The Mountie after a FIREBALL. He argues with the referee until he is grabbed by Lawler and thrown out of the ring to the delight of the crowd.

The Outsiders vs The Brainbusters w/ Bobby Heenan
A great match that saw several tags by both teams. A battered Hall (4 tokens) manages to tag in Nash, and he is on fire. He delivers the JACKKNIFE POWER BOMB to both Arn and Tully. Heenan's attempt to distract the referee fails and the Outsiders pick up the win. They jesture the titles around their waist as they leave the ring.

SMW TV TITLE MATCH

Bob Sapp (c) w/ Mr. Hughes vs Ravishing Rick Rude w/ Bobby Heenan
Rude is on the verge of winning the title when Mr. Hughes jumps on the apron. Sapp distracts the referee and Hughes hits Rude with a foreign object. A stunned Rude then walks into the SAPP POWER BOMB and is pinned. Heenan could not make the save on time. After the match, Ole Anderson comes down to the ringside area and clobbers Sapp with a steel chair. Rude and Anderson beat on Sapp until the Black Panthers come to the ring and chase them away. Rude and Anderson raise each others hand, and shake hands as they leave the ringside area.

Degeneration X vs Sin City Playboys
Another close call as HBK pulls some SWEET CHIN MUSIC out of nowhere on Austin Idol to pick up the win. After the match, Doug Somers rolls into the ring and it is a 3 on 2 battle!!!! DX is forced to retreat. Buddy Rose grabs the mic and tells him to either find a friend or meet the Sin City Playboys 3 on 2 next week!!!!!!

Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart
Savage gets a sort of a win when Honky Tonk Man is DQ'd for the GUITAR SHOT. Honky Tonk Man grabs the mic and says its a matter of time before he is champion again.

Hess: Well it has definitely been an interesting show!!! The tension seems to be at a high here in SMW. Now onto the main event!!!!!!

MAIN EVENT: #1 Contenders Match for SMW Heavyweight Title

Hollywood Hogan vs Sting
The crowd erupts when Sting is announced as Hogan's opponent. This should be a good match. And it did not disappoint as both men had each other reeling in this one. The match ends in controversy when Sting locks in the SCORPION DEATHLOCK on Hogan. Hogan appeared to get to the ropes to break the hold, but the referee somehow did not see it. The referee calls for the bell and declares Sting the winner!!!! The Outsiders come to the ring and argue with the referee along with Hogan. The crowd is going wild with the apparent win by Sting. Commissioner King comes out and declares that next week it will be a triple threat title match: Sting vs Hogan vs Flair!!!!!!!!

Hess: Wow, what a blockbuster announcement!!! A triple threat for the SMW Title, plus the SMW Tag Titles will be on the line again, plus a whole lot more!!! Tune in next week for another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Saturday!!!!
