Hess: Welcome to Smoky Mountain Saturday! The tournament is getting toward the end as we are nearing the crowning of the new SMW Heavyweight Champion!! Also, the SMW Tag Team Tournament also gets under way today. Here are the brackets for both tournaments!!!!

Hess: The quarterfinals and the semifinals of the heavyweight title tournament will be done on today's show, as well as the 1st round of the tag team tournament. Let's head to the ring!

Ric Flair vs Bison Smith
A great match that had both men reeling (Flair 5 tokens, Smith 3 tokens). After weakening the legs of Smith, Flair finally gets the win with PIN WITH ROPES.

Sgt Slaughter vs Big Van Vader
In what some would consider an upset, after a missed VADERSAULT, Slaughter locks in the COBRA CLUTCH. Vader is forced to submit.

Round 1: Half A Ton vs The Steiner Bros.
Half A Ton is DQ'd when Monsoon shoves the referee down outside the ring.

Hess: Well the first half of the show is complete, and some minor upsets occur. The Steiner Bros and Sgt Slaughter both manage to pull off the upset. When we come back the remainder of the tournament matches!!!

The Mountie vs Barry Windham
The Mountie gets DQ'd when he gets caught using the SHOCK STICK on Windham. Arn Anderson comes out and chases The Mountie away before he can do any further damage.

Bruiser Brody vs Christopher Daniels
After taking quite a lot of punishment, Brody rallies back and gets the win after a BIG BOOT TO THE FACE.

Round 1: The Kangaroos vs British Bulldogs
Both teams are DQ'd after a wild brawl outside the ring. The crowd is stunned.

(The Sin City Playboys come out to the ring.)

Buddy Rose: Before you guys get your hopes up Steiners, there is one team that you haven't faced yet. And that is us, Austin Idol and Buddy Rose. The Sin City Playboys. And we are here to take home the tag team gold!!!!


Hess: Well the tag team tournament doesn't go as expected, with the Steiner Brothers basically being handed the Tag Team Championships. Wait, I have just gotten word from Commissioner King. He says that the SMW Tag Team Tournament Finals will be next week, and it will be a NO DQ match between The Steiner Brothers and the Sin City Playboys. The champions will be decided in the ring!!!!!! When we come back our semi-final matches!!!

Semi-Finals: Bruiser Brody vs Barry Windham
Windham, obviously still feeling the effects of the SHOCK STICK earlier in the night is pinned rather easily by Brody after the JUMPING KNEE DROP.

Semi-Finals: Ric Flair vs Sgt. Slaughter
Sgt Slaughter had the match won, when Colonel Debeers comes down and clobbers Flair causing the DQ. This turned out to be intentional as then once he gets Slaughter DQ'd he turns his attention to Slaughter and hits him with what appears to be brass knuckles. Debeers beats on Slaughter until security can restore order.

Hess: What the heck is Debeers doing? He costs Sgt Slaughter a shot at the SMW Heavyweight Championship by clobbering Flair getting him intentionally DQ'd!!! Debeers will pay for this in the near future. The updated brackets will be posted below as all bedlam has broken lose!!! Tune in next week for another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Saturday!!!!

Hess: Welcome to Smoky Mountain Saturday!!! I am your host Big Jim Hess. SMW is ready to crown the first champions in the new SMW as the heavyweight and tag team tournaments come to a close. Bruiser Brody takes on Ric Flair for the SMW Heavyweight Title. Also the Steiner Brothers take on the Sin City Playboys for the SMW Tag Team Titles. And also, the SMW TV Title will be decided on as well!!! Let's head to the ring!!!!


(Before the card starts, Sgt. Slaughter comes out and demands Colonel Debeers to meet him in the ring tonight. Debeers then comes out onto the ramp and quickly accepts a match and says he will destroy everyone's American hero!!)

Adam Pearce vs The Greatest Bolo (local)
Well....what can I say......Adam Pearce really drops the ball in this one, and in a shocking turn of events, Bolo pins Pearce after a RUNNING HEADBUTT. Pearce argues with the referee, stating the man under the mask was not Bolo, but an imposter.

British Bulldogs vs Half-A-Ton
A great match that ends when Haystacks pins Dynamite Kid after a BIG SPLASH.

Diamond Dallas Page vs The Mountie
After the antics of The Mountie the last couple weeks, DDP finally gets The Mountie into the ring. It didn't go the way DDP wanted, as The Mountie ends up with the win after delivering the SHORT ARM CHOKE SLAM outside the ring. DDP cannot make it back into the ring on time. Jerry Lawler comes out and makes the save when Mountie goes for the shock stick.


SMW TV TITLE MATCH

Brian Christopher vs Christopher Daniels
The SMW TV Champion before the fall of the LWA gets his chance to reclaim his title as he takes on Christopher Daniels. A great match that ends when Daniels hits the ANGELS WINGS on Christopher to become the NEW SMW TV Champion!!!


Hess: Wow, Christopher comes close to reclaiming his title, but Daniels gets the big win to take the belt. I am sure Brian Christopher will have a lot ot say about his in the coming weeks. When we come back our next match!!!

Hennig dodges a turnbuckle charge and manages to get the win after THE AXE.


SMW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

The Steiner Bros vs Sin City Playboys
Austin Idol has Scott locked in the LA$ VEGAS LEGLOCK, but Rick manages to make the save. Scott makes a comeback, but then Idol manages to tag Rose. Rose pounds on Scott but cannot put him away. Scott makes the tag to Rick and he is on fire, cleaning house. Rick manages to pin Buddy Rose after the STEINER BULLDOG to become the new SMW Tag Team Champions!!!


Colonel Debeers vs Sgt. Slaughter
Both men take it outside the ring in a bloody mess. Once the match gets back into the ring, Debeers goes into his tights and heads to the top rope. He hits Slaughter with a closed fist on a DEATHJUMP and gets the win over Slaughter.

Barry Windham vs Bison Smith
A great match where no one could put the other away, and ends in a TIME LIMIT DRAW.

Hess: Some great matches, including 2 new champions, and Colonel Debeers defeating Sgt Slaughter in controversial fashion. When we come back, our main event!!!!

MAIN EVENT: SMW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs Bruiser Brody
A great match that saw Brody batter Flair from pillar to post. One vital mistake off of a turnbuckle charge, and Brody could not regain control. Flair makes Brody tap out to the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK after he applies it a second time in the center of the ring.


Hess: Well, Ric Flair is the NEW SMW Heavyweight Champion in a great match!! I am sure Brody will be back in the near future to take another run at the title. That's all we have this week. Tune in next week for another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Saturday!!!

Arn: You tell 'em Natche! And with Ole at home in the SMW again, the Minnesota Wrecking Crew will be in line for a tag team title shot in no time flat.

Windham: Daniels........You better watch your back. SMW is Horseman country.

Hess: Strong words from the Horsemen as they have their sights set on all the gold in the SMW.

British Bulldogs vs Sin City Playboys
Both Bulldogs wore down Buddy Rose, pretty much leaving him helpless. Davey Boy gets the win for his team with the RUNNING POWERSLAM. After the match, Dynamite Kid grabs the mic and says that the Steiner Brothers are ducking them, and they challenge them for a tag team title match next week!!!!

Sgt Slaughter vs Colonel Debeers
Slaughter demands a rematch after last weeks defeat at the hands of Debeers. A great match that was mostly out of the ring. Sgt. Slaughter manages to lock in the COBRA CLUTCH and get the win.

Smith looks dominant in this one, and finishes off Hennig with the IRON CLAW SLAM.

Bruiser Brody vs Johnny Rodz
Brody comes in the ring upset and challenges anyone from the back. Rodz accepts the challenge. Brody dominates and pins Rodz with the JUMPING KNEE SMASH.

(after the match, Brody grabs the mic and calls out Ric Flair. From behind and through the crowd, Abdullah the Butcher comes into the ring and nails Brody with a steel chair. Both men battle to the back, and both are quickly busted open.)

We have a great show lined up, as the Steiner Brothers will be defending the SMW Tag Team Championships against The British Bulldogs!!! Also, in a rematch from last week, Christopher Daniels will defend the SMW TV Championship against Sabu!! Let's head to the ring!!!!

Johnny Rodz vs Big Van Vader
Vader pounds on Rodz and eventually pins him after a SHORT ARM CLOTHESLINE.

(Bison Smith walks down to the ring after the match, and talks to Vader. He shakes hands with him and they both leave together.)

Abdullah The Butcher vs Gillberg
Gillberg comes out first, and asks the crowd who is going to be next. The Butcher comes out, with the crowd surprisingly cheering him. Gillberg manages to kick out of some powerful moves from Abby, and Gillberg was hurt pretty bad in the match (5 tokens). Abby gets the win eventually after the 2nd ELBOW DROP.

(Right after the match was over, Bruiser Brody attacks Abdullah with a steel chair, pummeling him over and over. Security is finally able to separate them after several minutes of brawling.)


Hess: Well it looks like Bruiser Brody went in for some payback after Abby's attack last week. When these 2 meet in the ring, its going to be a bloody war!!

Curt Hennig vs Bison Smith w/ Vader
After kicking out of 2 BISONTENNIALS, Hennig gets the win after a failed deathjump by Smith. After the match, Vader attacks Hennig. Randy Savage charges the ring and attacks both Smith and Vader. The crowd goes wild as both Hennig and Savage manage to chase away Smith and Vader.

Half A Ton vs Minnesota Wrecking Crew
Both teams battle to a double disqualification as the action spills outside the ring.

Sgt. Slaughter vs Colonel Debeers
Slaughter wins a competitive match with the COBRA CLUTCH. Debeers is upset after the match, and promises to get revenge on Slaughter.

SMW TV TITLE MATCH

Christopher Daniels (c) vs Sabu
The match quickly spills outside the ring, and the wrestlers lose track of the referees count and it is called a DOUBLE COUNT OUT. Daniels is visibly frustrated in not being able to get the clean win over Sabu.

Bruiser Brody vs Barry Windham
Ric Flair comes out with Barry Windham. He tells Brody that if you ever want another shot at this belt again, you need to beat Windham. Well Brody was on fire, but quickly got frustrated when Windham took control late in the match. The referee calls for the bell when Brody rammed Windham into the ring post repeatedly.

Hess: We have just been given word that next week there will be a #1 contenders match for the SMW Heavyweight Championship. Bruiser Brody vs Barry Windham vs Sgt. Slaughter in a STEEL CAGE!!! When we come back, our main event!!!

The Steiner Brothers (c) vs The British Bulldogs
A great match, that went back and forth. All 4 men managed to kick out of a finisher in this match. A battered Scott tags in Rick and he is on fire. He manages to get the pin on Dynamite Kid after the STEINER BULLDOG.

Hess: What a main event! The Steiner Brothers manage to hold off the British Bulldogs and retain their titles. Sgt. Slaughter vs Bruiser Brody vs Barry Windham next week for the #1 Contender match. And how will Abby fit into that mix? Tune in next week for another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Saturday!!

Both men battle to a disqualification after both men went for weapons outside the ring.

Sin City Playboys vs The British Bulldogs
The Playboys pull the upset when Idol traps Davey Boy Smith in the LA$ VEGAS LEGLOCK.

Jerry The King Lawler vs Bam Bam Bigelow w/ Steve Corino
Bigelow puts up a heck of a fight but it wasnt enough as Lawler gets the win after the PILEDRIVER. Corino attempts to get involved, but Brian Christopher grabs Corino's leg before he can get into the ring.

Adam Pearce vs Diamond Dallas Page
DDP gets the win with the DIAMOND CUTTER.

The Mountie vs Bruiser Brody
The Mountie gets DQ'd for using the SHOCK STICK for the 2nd time in the match. The Mountie bails out quickly after the 2nd shot with the stick just seemed to infuriate Brody more.

SMW/DWA Champion Ric Flair vs Steve Corino
Ric Flair gets the win after battering Corino (6 tokens) by pinning him with the PIN WITH ROPES.

Scott Steiner finishes off a dominating win by pinning SI Blue with the FRANKENSTEINER.

Curt Hennig vs Abdullah The Butcher
The 3rd time is the charm as Abby gets the pin over Hennig with the 3rd ELBOW DROP in the match.

Sgt Slaughter vs Sabu
Slaughter's roll he has been on in the SMW is quickly ended when Sabu traps him in the CAMEL CLUTCH (rolled snake eyes on the submission check.)

Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Bison Smith
Savage pulls off the win after an early onslaught from Smith, after hitting him with the FLYING ELBOW DROP.

SMW TV Champion Christopher Daniels vs Brian Christopher
Daniels gets the win after he traps Brian Christopher in the REVERSE STO.


MAIN EVENT

Half-A-Ton vs Minnesota Wrecking Crew
A great match that was mostly a brawl. It ends in controversial fashion as Calhoun pins Ole after he hits him with the HORSESHOE he brought to the ring with him. Arn protests to the referee but to no avail. The crowd seemed to be behind the Wrecking Crew in this match.
