Nick Bockwinkel, found out after he won the Great Lakes Title, that he was hurt bad in his match and will need time to heal. Bockwinkel, while locking on his Figure Four, pulled a tendon in his leg and is hurt. He will need time off to recover. He will be out for two cards. He will however still retain the Title but must defend it on Card #15 against Buddy Rogers in the rematch
Masked Superstar was rewarded not only a contract with Great Lakes, but a $500 bonus for his hard fought victories through out the tournament.
Don Muraco is livid after his huge feud victory over Jim Londos. He thinks he deserves the next title shot and the Board agrees that he deserves one and will get one as soon as Bockwinkel-Rogers finishes up!

Masked Superstar vs. The Missing Link:
Masked Superstar made his singles debut against the reigning wildman and someone the fans are starting to enjoy with a win with a sleeper. After the match Bobby Heenan made a surprise entrance and announced that he is here in Great Lakes and his first client was Masked Supersar who approached him before the event.
Great Lake Tag Team Championship Match: The Killer Bees vs. The Hennigs (c):
The Hennigs were almost defeated in their first defense but they manage to get the win after The Killer Bees were DQed for double teaming
The Mountie vs. Jim Londos:
Jim Londos got on the winning path tonight beating the Mountie with a roll up after the Mountie missed a turnbuckle splash
Buddy Rogers vs. Don Muraco:
Don Muraco proved his worth here tonight with a huge win over former Great Lakes Champion Buddy Rogers. This is heating the title scene up!

The Missing Link will be taking his wild ways out on the golf course. He has also been invited to a golf match. He will be playing with Rogers. This should be good.
Jim Londos has been given a movie contract and will star in a small role as a gladiator in a movie "Gladiator Combat 3". Londos is said to be excited and will not miss any time.
Larry Hennig was the first person from Great Lakes to get a randomized drug test and Hennig came back clean. It is a testament to this mans hard work at his job as 1/2 of the tag team champions!

The Armstrongs vs. The Valentines: #1 Contender Match:
The Valentines get the win with a roll up pinfall
Missing Link and Buddy Rogers clips are shown from their golf outing. Both men were paired with amateurs and played together. Rogers was really getting the crowd livid with his sneers and his nose turned up at them but was always falling victim to Missing Links pranks on the golf course. Whether it be he couldn't find his golf clubs to switching his golf balls for exploding ones, it was an unusual day at the Links!
Chris Candido vs. The Missing Link:
The Missing Link gets a huge win here with his Back Flying Headbutt. The crowd showed Link approval as Link is slowly becoming The Great Lakes Hero! Link just chalks it up to business.
Masked Superstar W/Bobby Heenan vs. Don Muraco:
An intense battle but in the end Bobby Heenan was distraction enough for Masked Superstar to lock on the Cobra Hold for the victory. Heenan says that Muraco shouldnt get a title shot before Superstar if he can't beat him.
The Mountie vs. Jim Londos:
Jim Londos took it to The Mountie and won this match convincingly with a Grinding Armbar

Great Lakes Wrestling is pleased to announce the return of Konnan, Frank Gotch and Great Lakes Champion Nick Bockwinkel from the injury list. All three men were quoted as saying they are ready to get back in the ring. Gotch was also rumored to have said some bad remarks about Missing Link.. telling him to watch his back. Missing Link was unavailable to comment, due to his new found love for Golf!

Jim Londos was on Columbus radio praising the Great Lakes Federation and all his peers. Great attitude from a great star!
Chris Candido has asked for a match with someone who is not in Great Lakes for a special attraction match. Candido as asked for and got Sabu to make an appearance and of course with these two it has been declared a Hardcore Match!
Greg Valentine was in trouble! After leaving the arena he was arrested after a large altercation broke out in a Columbus bar. Valentine was released to his Father after 6 hours in the detox tank. Great Lakes covered the $1000 worth of damage to the bar!

Don Muraco continues to be dominate in Great Lakes as he gets the win with a Vertical Suplex!
Frank Gotch vs. Konnan
Both men are back from injury and put up a fight but Frank Gotch got the victory with THe Gotch Toehold. After the match he guarnateed that he will be after Missing Link and will end his career
Special Attraction Match: Chris Candido vs. Sabu
In this match, Chris Candido got the win with his Blonde Bombshell.
The Armstrongs vs. The Killer Bees
In an epic tag team match, The Armstrongs defeated former Great Lakes Tag Team Champions by countout when Brunzell was thrown to the outside and couldnt get back in.
Jim Londos vs. The Missing Link
Jim Londos made short work of Missing Link, winning easily with The Boston Crab. After the match Gotch came out of the crowd and leveled Missing Link with a steel chair, busting him open and telling him that he will cripple him. Security hurried out and broke things up before it got out of hand!
Great Lakes Tag Team Title Match: The Valentines vs. The Hennigs (c)
THe Valentines had somethings to prove and did it tonight as the regained the Great Lakes Tag Team Titles as they dismantled the Hennigs!
Great Lakes Championship Match: "Tricky" Nick Bockwinkel (c) vs. "Nature Boy" Buddy RogersNick Bockwinkel showed no ring rust coming off his injury and he defeated Buddy Rogers in his rematch to retain the Great Lakes Championship

Jim Londos is sitting in an East Lansing holding cell! The Great Lakes star got into a verbal altercation with his girlfriend. Apparently his girlfriend contacted police when Londos gave her a verbal abusing, and she said that Londos threated to Airplane Spin her to hell!!! Londos was unavailable for comment but Great Lakes personal state this matter will be wrapped up soon as there were not any charges pressed at press time!
Missing Link continues to be a fan favorite and one of the most popular wrestlers on the Great Lakes show. He recently visited a children's hospital where he put on his gimmick, much to the delight of the youngsters!
Nick Bockwinkel and Curt Hennig got into an altercation after the show, Curt called Bockwinkel a fluke champion as he hurt himself with his own move. The showdown was tense and Bockwinkel told Hennig he could have a match against Bockwinkel for the title, but he would have to prove himself!!

The Vachons vs. The Flying Redheads:
In an entertaining opening round match, The Flying Redheads were too much for the Vachons as Red Bastien got the victory with a crossbody block!
Team Extreme vs. The Fabulous Kangaroos:
Team Extreme put on a clinic against the Kangaroos and won with Sabu hitting his Triple Jump Moonsault (+5)
Samoan Explosion vs. Risky Business:
Risky Business was all business tonight as they quickly dispatched of The Samoans to get the final spot in the three way dance for a roster spot!
Don Muraco vs. Curt Hennig:
Curt Hennig took Bockwinkel up on his challenge and beat the #1 contender Don Muraco. Because of this Hennig and Muraco are duel #1 contenders and they will both wrestle Bockwinkel on Card #18, Great Lakes next PPV, Wrestlewar!
Team Extreme vs. Risky Business vs. The Flying Redheads:
First Fall: Team Extreme eliminates Risky Business via Hardcore DDT on Buff Bagwell

Jim Londos sentenced to Jail Term!!!!
Jim Londos, The Greek God to Great Lakes fans, has pleaded no contest to domestic violence. Jim Londos, who was at the time under the influence of Alcohol, threatened his then girlfriend Janice Foreman. Janice, who called police filed the dispute after Card #15. Londos will be out of action until Card #20. Londos, who has agreed also to an alcohol treatment center, was unavailable for comment but his lawyer, Justin Case, stated that Mr. Londos is looking forward to getting the help he needs and back to the squared circle!

Team Extreme got a big victory over The Armstrongs with the Hardcore DDT!
Frank Gotch vs. Missing Link- Grudge Match:
Frank Gotch and Missing Link hooked up since the last time when Link injured Gotch. Gotch got himself DQed when he attacked Link with a steel chair. Gotch tried to hurt the Fan Favorite but Security was right there to break it up
Konnan vs. The Mountie- TV Title Qualifying match:
The Mountie once again got his man as he defeated Konnan via Short Arm Chokeslam to get a shot at the TV title that Great Lakes will be bringing soon!
Masked Superstar vs. Chris Candido- TV Title Qualifying Match:
Masked Superstar is one step closer to Great Lakes gold as he gets a shot at the TV title as he will go against The Mountie for the first champion!
Buddy Rogers vs. Curt Hennig:
Curt Hennig scores a huge victory as he gets a crossbody off a reversal off the ropes. Hennig has a huge win heading into the three way dance for the Great Lakes Title!

Buddy Rogers was furious with Great Lakes after losing to Curt Hennig. Rogers feels that he should still be in a title hunt. Great Lakes agrees and they have added Rogers to the TV title match at Wrestlewar. So now it is Buddy Rogers vs. The Mountie vs. Masked Superstar!
The Mountie has informed Great Lakes that his Aunt has passed away. We at Great Lakes are praying for him and his family. He will take two cards off after the PPV to cope with the loss. We at Great Lakes will welcome him right back!
Brad Armstrong will have the law on his side more often. Brad was pulled over on suspicions of DUI. When tested he had a Blood Alcohol content of 0.0, thus noting he was not drinking. The Mayor of Columbus gave proper notice to the Great Lakes promotion of having great wrestlers and gave the promotion free Newspaper space next time they were in town!

Special Attraction Match: Women's World Title: Sherri Martel(c) vs. Ida Mae Martinez
We have our first Women's match in Great Lakes and we had a title change! Ida Mae Martinez won this match with a Dropkick and won the Woman's World Title!
No DQ Match: Missing Link vs. Frank Gotch:
In a bloody bloody match, Missink Ling and Frank Gotch had a lot to settle. Both men used steel chairs to bust one another open. Mising Link however got the victory after crushing Gotch with a chair as he ran towards Link in the corner, then Link nailed his Back Flying Headbutt and got the pinfall. Both men needed helped to the back after the match and we can tell you fans this one is far from over!
The Killer Bees vs. Team Extreme:
Team Extreme still looking great as the new team on the scene as they take apart the Killer Bees and win this one with the Hardcore DDT!
Konnan vs. Chris Candido:
Konnan wins this one with a cross body block.
Great Lakes TV Championship: The Mountie vs. Masked Superstar vs. "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers
First Fall: The Mountie is eliminated by Buddy Rogers via Figure Four Grapevine
Last Fall: Buddy Rogers is eliminated by Masked Superstar with the Cobra Hold. Masked Superstar and Bobby Heenan celebrate as Masked Superstar wins the TV Title. Heenan announces that he said when he and Superstar got together they would head to the top and this is just the stepping stone!
Great Lakes Tag Team Championship: The Valentines(c) vs. The Armstrongs:
In a great and epic match, The Armstrongs came out victorious to become the new Tag Team Champions! The Valentines tried everything to hold these belts but Bob and Brad were just too much for them on this night. After the match there was a bit of a staredown but all 4 men left without altercation.
Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship: Nick Bockwinkel(c) vs. Curt Hennig vs. Don "The Rock" Muraco:
First Fall: Curt Hennig def. Don Muraco with The Hennig Plex
Final Fall: Nick Bockwinkel def. Curt Henning via Shoulderbreaker to retain the Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship. Bockwinkel survived this hard fought match to keep as the top man in Great Lakes!

Greg Valentine went for his routine check up today and found that he has a fracture on his right wrist. Doctors have decided he needs some time off and will be out until card #21
Chris Candido confronted the Great Lakes Board about getting lost in the shuffle. He requested a Hardcore Match against Frank Gotch, who seems to be wanting to be a little hardcore!
Bob Armstrong got some recognization in Pro Wrestling Illustrated for him and his son, Brad Armstrongs', Success in Great Lakes, Noting their tag team Championship Win at Wrestlewar!

The Great Lakes Board of Directors has announced that Card #24 Will be the 4th and final PPV of Great Lakes for the first Calendar Year. Card #24, dubbed Ultra Bowl 1, will be held in Columbus Ohio at Nationwide Arena. Tickets are on sale now. The card will be huge as already announced all three Great Lake Titles will be on the line.
Currently Nick Bockwinkel, The Great Lakes Heavyweight Champion will defend his title against Curt Hennig. Now this match is subject to change if Bockwinkel loses the title before hand.
The Great Lakes Tag Team Championship will be pitted in a Championship Scramble Match as The Armstrongs, Killer Bees, Valentines and Team Extreme will all compete for the title.
The TV title will be on the line yet the contestants haven't been named due to the title being defended every card!
Also there will be end of the year awards presented immedately after the show so we encourage fans to stick around!
Lets make this the best Great Lakes PPV ever!
