Round #1:
Block ABout #1:
Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Dos Caras, Jr
- A good opening bout here, as these two styles classed. Fujinami was able to advance with his Dragon Suplex at 13:07.
Bout #2:
Riki Choshu vs. Strong Kobayashi
- A blistering battle of two big bruisers, as each man blasted each other with huge, hard chops. Choshu scored with a nice suplex that set up his Riki Lariat for the win at 12:36.
Bout #3:
Yuji Nagata vs. Yoshiaki Fujiwara
- This submission-fest started early, with both men working over every joint they could. Fujiwara locked on his signature armbar, but Nagata got to the ropes. Yuji was finally able to get the Nagata Lock I on in the middle of the ring to take the win at 19:07. Both men shake hands at the end, but Nagata's arm is obviously in serious pain after this bout.
Bout #4:
Verne Gagne vs. Kintaro Oki
- Verne, who has been tauting himself as the DWA Mid-Atlantic Champion, has seemed very cocky coming into this tournament. Oki scored a near fall on a sunset flip, but Gagne escaped. Verne then used his pure wrestling ability to grind down Oki and used a victory roll at 10:02 to win.
Block BBoot #5:
Kenta Kobashi vs. Nathan Jones
- As Jones came to the ring, he shook hands with the RFA's Steve Blackman, who is sitting ringside. Kenta went directly at the big man from the start and never let up. Kenta used his big chops to raise some huge welts and a setup some awesome suplexes. Kenta used his Orange Crush to win at 7:27.
*After the bout, Jones rolled out of the ring. Blackman said to Jones that it was okay and that he did well. Jones, who looked furious, stopped and look Blackman in the eye. He slapped Blackman across the face, knocking the RFA star back. Blackman answered with a big shot, but Jones blocked it and head-butted him. Out of nowhere, Tarzan Goto attacked Blackman from behind. Jones drags Blackman over the guardrail and the 2 of them started beating him down. Blue Demon and CIMA both race out of the back and make the save on Steve.
Bout #6:
Super Strong Machine vs. Bam Bam Bigelow
- This match broke down quickly, as both of these big men started blasting each before the bell even rang. This brawl spilled out the floor and Bam Bam slammed Machine down onto the floor. As Bigelow continued to break the count, the ref told him to stop or he would be DQed. Bigelow did not heed his warning, so Bam Bam was disqualified at 9:07.
Bout #7:
Jimmy Snuka vs. Toshiaki Kawada
- A great match here between these two immensely strong wrestlers. This match was a back and forth strong-style dream match, with both men using their specialties throughout. Kawada nailed a Powerbomb at 17:50 to take the win. The fans stood and applauded this great match.
Bout #8:
The Great Muta vs. CM Punk
- The traveling Punk draws the legend Muta here. The young Punk used all the moves in his arsenal to try and down Muta, but the veteran kept himself alive. Muta battled back and used his hand-spring elbow to set up his Moonsault for the win at 19:07.
Block CBout #9:
Akira Maeda vs. Steve Corino
- Corino, who is very vocal about his love of wrestling in Japan, draws Maeda here in the opening round. Both men shook hands to open the bout, which saw Maeda try and break every bone in Corino's body throughout the match. Maeda then used several suplexes to wear down the former ECW champion and finished the match with a capture suplex at 10:56.
Bout #10:
Masa Saito vs. El Samurai
- Saito came into this match with all business on his mind. He never allowed Samurai a chance to get going, and used his Saito Suplex to take the victory at 7:46.
Bout #11:
Abdullah the Butcher vs. Kengo Kimura
- Abdullah wasted no time in attacking Kimura with anything he could get his hands on. Using his huge body to block the smaller referee, Abby gouged Kimura's face with his sharpened fork. Kimura's head started bleeding so bad that the ref stepped in o check the wound. Abby kept attacking the head wound, until the ref called for the bell. He awarded the match to Abby due to referee stoppage from excess bleeding at 11:57.
Bout #12:
Bruiser Brody vs. CIMA
- Brody came storming down the ramp with his chain swinging. The fans are terrified and yet love this crazy man. Brody wasted no time in trying to destroy the smaller CIMA. Brody kept firing CIMA out of the ring. CIMA tried to nail some quick offense, but Brody slammed CIMA into the post. Back in the ring, Brody launched CIMA out of the ring and into the first row of the crowd. CIMA was counted out at the 8:19 mark.
Block DBout #13:
Kensuke Sasaki vs. Dos Caras
- Sasaki used his size advantage to take early control and never looked back. Sasaki nailed his King Buster at 6:00 to advance.
Bout #14:
Taz vs. Blue Demon
- Taz and Blue Demon both looked good early, having scouted each other very well. Demon attempted to nail a clothesline, but Taz ducked and used modified belly to back suplex to drive the legend down hard. Taz used his Tazmission at 12:17 to advance.
Bout #15:
Missing Link vs. Seiji Sakaguchi
- Link takes on the visiting Sakaguchi. Link staggered around the ring before the bell, but as soon as it rang, he attacked. Link never stopped coming forward and eventually used his Flying Headbutt to win at 8:05.
Bout #16:
Triple H vs. Masahiro Chono
- Triple H, who was just drafted by the RFA, faces off with half of the Elite Zero tag team champions in the first round. Triple H pounded on Chono in the early going and enjoyed an early advantage, including scoring several near falls. Chono ducked a clothesline and came back with his Yakuza Kick. Triple H went down hard, but Chono still hooked the tights for the win at 12:15.

Bout #17: Elite Zero Grand Championship Match
Duke Droese vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan (c)
- Duke got his shot here at the champion after an impressive run in the tag team tournament. Tenzan, unimpressed with Droese's tag team work, wasted little motion in wearing down the American and scoring the win at 9:19 with his Moonsault.
